How does the Give a Snoof Fund work?
Our Give a Snoof fund helps lower the costs of our muzzles for those who need them. Applicants pay what they can, and our fund helps cover the rest of the costs, so we can help more people and dogs while being able to cover our business costs. 100% of your donations go towards helping keep dogs in need safe!💖
Why give?
People reach out to us every day hoping to get a muzzle to keep their dogs safe and comfortable, only to be deterred by the pricing. We are not in this business to get rich by any means, but we do believe in paying our employees an ethical living wage, and especially living in California, this means we have to charge a fair amount to keep our business going. But in 2025, times are tough and scary, and we recognize that unfortunately our pricing is not accessible to many people (and dogs) who need our muzzles.
To solve this, or at least lessen the strain, we wanted a way to connect those who have more resources to share with those who need it. Therefore… If you are passionate about muzzle advocacy, and really Give a Snoof about helping those who can’t afford a well-fit muzzle, please consider donating to our Give a Snoof Fund! Every little bit goes towards changing a dog’s life with a fantastic Big Snoof muzzle!

Interested in applying for the Give a Snoof fund? Fill out your info below, email us measurement photos for review, and if we can help we will be in touch shortly!
Please note that while we wish we could help every applicant, donated funds are limited, so we can only help a few of our many applicants each month. If you have been accepted for the Give a Snoof program, we will reach out via email within about a month!
We do now require measurement photos to be emailed to us at giveasnoof@bigsnoofdoggear.com for all applications, which will enable us to review your dog’s sizing and determine if we can assist you with a muzzle. Please include your name and your dog’s name in the email, along with measurement photos of (at minimum) the Nose Length, Cheek Width and Side Head Length measurements. We’d also like to see a side profile photo of your dog naturally panting, so we can estimate their pant height. If you do not send us measurement photos, you will not qualify for the program, so make sure to send these promptly!

Yes, of course! All donation transactions will receive an emailed receipt.

Unfortunately, our website platform does not allow for donations to be added to your normal order because donations are processed and kept track of differently. Your donation would need to be a separate transaction from your order.

Give a Snoof funds would be used towards the cost of a standard size muzzle, unless your dog wouldn’t fit a standard size, in which case it could be put towards a custom muzzle. This is because we want to help as many dogs and their people as possible.

Generally, no. If you have an extreme case where you need the muzzle asap, reach out and we can discuss it, but we generally will not expedite Give a Snoof Muzzles — they would be subject to the same timeline as other orders according to our Wait Times page.

While there isn’t a minimum amount, we do ask applicants to be honest in their budget, and to pay what they realistically can. We can’t afford to cover the full costs of a muzzle for every applicant, so the more you’re able to help cover the costs for your muzzle, the more we can use to help others.
